San Pedro de Atacama is an oasis town of about 2000 people in the middle of the desert. the town itself is sandy streets and mudbrick houses but it's popular starting point for lots of tours around the area. We have already gone on a trip to nearby lagoons, as well as mountainbiking to nearby ancient ruins (which we never actually got to because it was too hot to continue), as well as sandboarding and tours of nearby geysers. We are going to be leaving on Christmas morning towards Salta in Argentina.
