There are many reasons to like Granada , Spain , but free tapas tops the list. When you order a drink at the bar, you can expect to get mini-sandwiches, french fries, olives, chips, etc. Wouldn't that be nice to have back home? Another aspect i'd like to bring back home is Spain 's siesta culture. People here take siesta pretty seriously and it's hard to find stores that are open between 2-5pm . It's clearly apparent that the people are much more relaxed and things move at slower pace. But I also understood why siesta is necessary here. I've been told that during the summer, it can get up to 120°F, hence, everyone stays inside. If nobody is around, why not take a nap? Brilliant, right?

Granada is most famous for Alhambra , a Moorish palace built during the 13th century for the muslim kings. It's situated on top of the hill and the palace itself is simply magnificent. After going to countless churches, it was a breath of fresh air to see something different, and it's dramatically different from anything i've seen. The walls are decorated in arabesques instead of recurring paintings of Jesus and the columns and ceilings display exquisite details. The palace also holds Generalife which is a huge garden filled with trees, flowers and a pool. It's good to be a king, especially if you can live in a palace like Alhambra . (not Alhambra in LA)

Again, time was well spent here in Granada . I didn't rush to see everything here and i took my time, taking naps and enjoying free tapas. I think the Spanish lifestyle is rubbing off on me. But it was time to move on before I got too lazy here so I decided to go north to the city that i've been most anticipating since coming to Europe .
