16 hours passed since leaving LAX and I finally arrived in London, only to realize I left all of my notes at home. Consequently, I didn't know where my hostel was. Good way to start a long trip, I thought. Well, I found an internet access at the airport and used the internet to locate my hostel. I, then, took the Tube (London Subway) to my hostel but check-in wasn't allowed for couple of hours. So while unloading my luggage in the storage room, I met another traveler whom just arrived in London from Brazil. She is also traveling in London for the first time and she'll stay in Europe for the next 6 weeks. Sharing much in common, we took off to London Tower and few other touristy spots.

After walking around for several hours, we headed back to the hostel. But first, we wanted to get a bite to eat. The first thing that caught our eye was Burger King. We went in and came back out just as fast after seeing its outrageous prices. The prices were displayed close to home prices with a combo meal costing around 5.5. But this was in pounds which meant at the current exchange rate, it's over $12. This immediately annihilated my hope to attend London Business School or ever living in London. I mean, how do people survive here? Realizing painful reality of not even being able to afford Burger King, we bought some bread and cheese spread at the next door and headed back to our hostel.

Both of us haven't stayed in a hostel before and were anxious to see where we'd stay for the next 5 days. After checking in, I got my keys and headed to my room. Now, I didn't expect much, but I didn't think it'd be as tiny as it was. The room is about 6x12 feet with three bunk beds. You literally only have room to sleep, and nothing else. Arrrgghhh...but I guess what can you expect? This is London and it was actually one of the cheaper hostels out there.

Feeling claustrophobic, I had to leave the room and decided to head out and explore the city with my new roommate. She was from Korea and came to London to attend a Manchester United game. I thought she was crazy for coming all the here just for a futbol game, but she's a hardcore fan and loves to travel, so I guess it's not that insane, just little bit. You gotta love them fanatic Korean girls.
