Flag of Trinidad and Tobago  , Tobago,
Saturday, January 9, 2010

This is timed at 12.10 on 9th January 2010.

Position Lat 10dg 17' 024N  Lat 057dg 29' 770w

Had an interesting last 24 hours. All watches had their busiest time so far. Overnight we encountered many squalls with varying wind directions and speeds. Saw 48knots wind speed at approx 04.30 this morning! Taboo handled it well and those asleep didnt notice. Paul and Martin were on watch at the time. Speeds have reached over 9 knots and we have consistantly made between 7 and 8 knots. So progress is very good against the plan.

We had clear blue skies all day yesterday, beautifull sailing weather.

Tim has made some great pancakes with bacon this morning which went down very well. Managed to get Rogers ipod working with the stereo last night so had music with dinner for the first time (salad nicoise followed by fruit salad).Happy hour has included a can of Wadadli (Antigua's local beer) but Gin and Tonic may be on the menu tonight.

On a peronal note it has taken me a while to get used to doing normal things (washing, eating, sleeping, moving!) on a yacht sailing consistantly under Force 7 winds. But am getting ther and very much enjoying the experience.

Great description and photos, Martin. Enjoy! We are still under several inches of snow here since last Wed. Take care. Pam

Good to see that you're on course and staying awake on night shifts! Snow bound here but managed to drive to Poole today and saw the snow capped hills across the Bay.

Keep sending the pictures.
