Pretty nippy when we left Kamloops this morning  - a chilly 3 degrees which felt way cooler on the bike.  Passed fields with frozen puddles but managed to keep warm with a stop at a roadside store for hot chocolate.   By the time we got off our bikes in Mission, the temperature was in the mid twenties.

Magnificent drive through the Fraser Valley with a stop at Hope for lunch.  Hope's claim to fame  - it was the town where the first Rambo movie was filmed

Made our way to the outskirts of Mission where we lined up at the old fire hall with our escorts RCMP, colourfully dressed in red serge, and paraded into town.  The parade ended at the venue that was set up for the West Coast Ride for Dad.  The organizers of this Ride arranged to postpone it this year so that it would coincide with the National Tour.  The West Coast Ride was extremely well attended and very successful in raising funds this year.  Wayne Rostad, our National Ride Marshall, said a few words and introduced the Chapter Director of the West Coast Ride.

Following the ceremonies, we took a slight detour and went to Granville Island to check out some of the local merchandise.  Interesting ride downtown through quite diverse sections of the City.

When we arrived at the hotel to check in, Howard and Guy were standing outside the lobby.  For reasons that we had not understood earlier, no one had seen either of these gentlemen, who have taken to travelling together, since the breakfast meeting.  Howard was very excited to tell us that they had followed his GPS for some time and then realized they were actually going the wrong way (I guess the route maps that are handed out every morning are not something Howard or Guy like to look at). By the time they realized they were going the wrong direction, they were unable to turn around because the other side of the highway was closed for an accident, and they ended up back in Kelowna.  It seems that Howard and Guy are having so much fun on this tour that they wanted to go back to day 26.  By the end of the day they had done over 640 km and somehow managed to join up with the rest of us.  Howard was the goose rider so Charlie got an extra side trip back to day 26 as well.  At dinner Howard and Guy assured us that tomorrow they will stick with the pack.

Saint Jim's wife, Sheila, joined us late in the afternoon.  She and Jim and will be driving back to Ottawa, on Bertha our tour bus, which will be their vacation together and some time to do some sightseeing.  They are a little worried though that they might not get home til Christmas given that Bertha has had a fair share of mechanical problems and was back in the garage today.

Tomorrow, it seems unbelievable, is the last day of the tour, with closing ceremonies at the base at Esquimalt.

Can't wait to see Guy and pull his legs about this detour, I know that they are far away from the east coast but they also had a GPS. Hope they get on the right plane home...
