It's been a busy past couple days trying to get everything in gear for the big trip. Going to Kyoto in the middle of the week put us a bit behind, but at least half of that's probably because we weren't making good use of our time previous to that. Now we've been suffering for it. It didn't help either that I made prior engagements with bandmates for an outing yesterday evening and then one last gig tonight. Thanks to that, I had to frantically try and get as much done this morning and afternoon before I had to catch a train to Nagoya and do a soundcheck. Then, as soon as it was over, it was back to Kariya to pack my backpack full of gear.

So, I've cancelled my cell phone, updated my address book with as many e-mail addresses and phone numbers as I could think of, purchased a couple more memory cards to get me through the trip, and said the necessary goodbyes. Somehow yesterday I even made time to swing by Nagoya castle for one last look at the cherry blossoms (photos attached as a sort of "farewell to Japan"). Mayu's still packing as I write this, which makes me wonder if/when we'll ever hit the sack. But, in any case, next time I write something we should be in Germany.

Until then, we've got some long hours to spend on an airplane.
