Alajandra, Victoria and I survived the most uncomfortable bus ride so far. The climate in San Jose was nice and cool and the further we drove toward the coast, the hotter it got. Eventually I was just sitting there sweating. I have never been so happy to have my Ipod. Once we finally got there, we decided to walk the 700 meters to Rockin' J's hostel. I had heard about this place before and was really excited about all of the people that would be around. However, first things first... TO THE BEACH!!! We were so hot from the bus, I couldn't wait to get in the water to cool down... only to find that the Caribean Ocean was as hot as a warm bath. I did meet a couple of girls from Colorado, one of whom looked exactly like my friend Amber... I showed the girl a picture of Amber, and even she was freaked out. Anyway, I then worked on the computer the rest of the day, before having dinner with the girls and reading in my hammock. I did run into Luna again too... she was the Austrian girl who had me convinced she was the princess of Austria.

Alajandra and Victoria decided they had better places to be than Puerto Viejo, so they took off. I rented a cruiser bike from Rockin' J's and went on a nice hour long bike ride through the jungle along the ocean. I rode all the way down to a little town called Manzanillo. As I rode I thought took in all of the scenery and thought about what a great time I am having. I thought about my family and my future. I thought about where I will go in life once this adventure is completed. But most of all I thought about how much I WANT A CRUISER BIKE! It was so much fun to ride. Once at the beach town of Manzanillo, I found a nice little area of the beach that was empty. I had the area to myself. I took a nice swim in the warm bath, and cooled off in the Carrabian breeze. It was great, I just sat and watched the waves roll in. Finally, I moved on and stopped for a bite to eat at this little sea side restaurant. Where I started talking to another Colorado couple (the Colorado travelers count is up to 7). They were on a little holiday and were a lot of fun to talk to. After they left I wrote in my journal for a bit, before heading back down the road. I listened to the howler monkeys in the treetops as I rode. It was really nice to just listen to my own thoughts. Once back in town, I stopped by to make plans with Luna for dinner before taking a little nap. Luna and I had a nice dinner before I spent the rest of the evening catching up on my journal and trying not to steal the chocolate banana creation the kid next to me was eating. I felt a bit weird being at this party hostel and sitting alone with my headphones on writing away. However, I just didn't feel like talking to anyone, and only wanted to be by myself. That is one of the great things about traveling alone... if you want to be with other people, you can and if you don't, you can be alone.

The next morning I was up early in order to catch the 7:15 bus to the Panama border. I thought I was going to miss it, since it was like a 20 minute walk into town from Rockin' J's... so I took a cab. However, the two boys and two girls who left the hostel at the same time as me, walking... but were able to make the same bus as I because it was 30 minutes later than it was suppose to be. I forgot about Central American time... always add at least 15-20 minutes.
