Today was a transition from the industrialized
gulf coast to the farm country, traveling north on US highway 181 we passed a
several large chemical plants, hundreds of railroad tanker cars with the
“Dupont” logo, and a large wind farm. As
we traveled north the terrain became a rolling landscape of farms
at 1:30, “Braunig Lake RV Resort”, a large Passport America campground. We set up camp and relaxed, and after an
early dinner we headed into San Antonio to the “Riverwalk”. We decided to take the “River Cruise”, which
was a guided cruise along the river, and worth the fee. After the cruise we took a walk along the
restaurants and shops, enjoying the sights and sounds of the night. Before leaving we had a drink at one of the
bars. It was an enjoyable evening. Around 10:00 we heard thunder and shortly
thereafter a large thunderstorm passed by, lasting for about an hour.
