Nikko: Fufilling My Destiny At Last

I have realised my fate. My destiny. What I was created to do. It is all so clear to me now. In the tradition of the Monks, I am meant to be a Monk. Today I took the two hour train ride to the small mountain town of Nikko. I immediately fell in love with the place. The air was crisper, the colours brighter and the scenery mind blowing. There is a group of about ten huge temples high on this mountainside, which are all World Heritage listed. They are hands down the most amazing temples I have ever seen. I remember standing there in disbelief, thinking that this was too surreal to be real. At the top of one of the many temples I bought a charm from one of the many monks. It is supposed to bring me Happiness and Safe Travvic. I assumed that means Travels, and not traffic, otherwise I would feel incredibly jipped. Ouch. Oh well, I can now cross the street with peace of mind then. I have mountains of footage and have put up some photos, but seriously, they dont even slightly do the place justice. It is amazing. And hence I have decided to devote my life to it and will begin my holy conversion now. Im just that awesome.

you ---monastic life? hmmmmmm (reply) Mar 6, 2007 10:41 EST by annieandkim
Isn't it wonderful how travel distorts our view of the world. I remind you dear son that monks (by vocation and not name alone) rise at 4 am, prayer several times a day, refrain from unnecessary talking AND practice poverty, chastity and obedience. hmmmmm
want to re-assess your new found calling? hair shirts aren't in this season.
Sounds like you are having a fantastic time. love you ... show all
