We sat in Pizza Hut (of all places) in Nizwa, Oman and made a list on the back of the place mats of some of the things that stood for us in regards to the countries that we have visited for the first 6 months of our travels.  Here they are:


Our favorites:  Horseback riding,  Machu Picchu, Amazon
Favorite Food: Pollo de Braso (grilled chicken), Inca Cola (Nik only, it was too sweet for me)
Dislikes:  Crazy lady (inca cola glass bottle), Cold showers, Video camera stolen at Uruguay vs. Cuzco soccer match
Toy:  Trompo (spinning top)
Locals favorite soccer team:  Manchester United
Local People:  Round butter ball women dressed in colorful  clothing and hats, Quiet people, curious (all staring at Nik)


Our favorites:  Playing soccer with the local kids (Nik), Snowboarding, Tango lessons, Horseback riding, Bus ride to Bariloche
Food:  Empanadas (Charlotte), McDonald's ice cream cones (Nik),  Pasta/marinara made by Alejandro (our home stay host), Bubblegum tape (Nik), Coffee (Charlotte)
Toy: Soccer and basketball
Favorite local soccer team:  Arsenal and Boca Jr. and Riverplate (national teams)
Dislikes:  Big City, Everyone smokes
Local People:  People look pasty and sick.


Our favorites:  Sunset, two cute dogs following us, Small town, Go Cart driving through town


Our favorites:  Spectacular falls
Food:  River fish

Our favorites:  Lance Burton magic Show, Cirque de Soleil “O”, Devil on the street, Neon Lights and colorful
Toy:  Magic trick with levitating things


Favorites:  Beautiful Robinson Crusoe island, Island Games, Hammocks, Snorkeling, locals
Food:  Fish, Salad
Dislikes:  Having to leave, Leaving our passports behind
People:  Happy and smiling people wearing colorful sarongs


Our favorites:  Easy to travel around, Everyone friendly and helpful, Landscape/scenery the most beautiful on this trip, Sky diving over Fox glacier, Luges in Rotorua, Cadbury Chocolate Factory
Dislikes:  Too little time to explore, internet was horrible and it was very cold in some parts.
Food: Cooked at hostels and guesthouses
People:  Genuinely nice and helpful people who actually thanks the tourists for visiting their country


Our favorites:  Surfing (Nik), Sailing WhitSundays, Sidney wildlife sanctuary, Koalas, Kangaroos/Wallabys, Mr. November (funny UK guy on British Defender sailboat)
Food:  Cooked at hostels and guesthouses and ate at Subway sandwich!
Toy:  Boomerang
Dislikes:  The City of Brisbane, having to wear a stinger suit while swimming, Internet slow and expensive
People:  Aussies are laid back, no worries mate! Very friendly and nice.


Our favorites:  Volunteering in Northern Thailand, Mirror Foundation, Swenson’s ice cream, Thai massages, White Temple, Scuba diving (Nik), Beaches in Ko Phi Phi, Candle Lanterns balloons, Fire dancing, Thai Cooking class, Tigers, Elephants, Lady boys!
Food: Satay pork or chicken, Fried Grasshoppers, Peanut sauce, Pad Thai, Swenson’s ice cream
Dislikes: Rice for breakfast and lunch and dinner at Mirror, Black temple a bit creepy, Bucket showers, the cartoon characters of Superman, Bin Laden and Bush inside the white temple (why were they on the walls of a temple????)
Toy:  Bouncy ball for the water, Badminton
Locals Favorite soccer team:  Manchester United
Local People:  The most humble and non confronting people we have met.  Love the fact that they bow with their hands together at the chest to say hello (sawadeekaa)


Our favorites:  Living on the edge while playing chicken crossing the streets filled with crazy traffic, movies and books very cheap
Dislikes:  too much traffic, hot and humid
People:  More pushy and aggressive, harder lines on faces than Thai people.  Of course, I can understand after 18 years of war.


Our favorites:  Babazee at orphanage, my new "adopted" children especially Anju and Zyrbie, Jaiselmer and the Shahi Palace, Camel Safari with Mr. Singh, Camel Safari in Pushkar with Lindsey and Tiffany, Jaipur the Pink city, Rickshaws, Taj Mahal, Shooting monkeys with sling shot (Nik) (I dont really like the idea of hitting animals with a sling shot but the monkeys in India are not nice and they were an annoyance to the orphanage)
Food:  Chai tea, Chibati bread and Dal
Dislikes: Jodhpur (the blue city), constant honking and stepping in cowdung,
Toy:  Sling shot, Kite
Locals favorite soccer team:  None, they were crazy about Cricket
Local People:  Very helpful people and the honest ones do not expect anything in return, however, they do not know what personal space is as they all get right in your face, staring!


Our favorites:  Desert, Dunebashing, Nesting turtles, Best roads to drive on besides New Zealand roads, Friendly and helpful people, no skyscrapers but beautiful white and beige houses.
Food:  Pizza hut and grocery stores
Dislikes:  A bit expensive, hard to find a good budget hotel
Toy: Kite
Locals favorite soccer team:  AC Milan
Local People:  Very friendly and welcoming people, a bit reserved but very respectful, this was the only country we have visited where we did not find ONE beggar
