It never seems to amaze me how easy it is for anyone to float in the Dead Sea.  I do remember back in 1987, when I went to the Dead Sea but on the Israeli side, what a weird feeling it is to go into the water and float without needing to do anything.

Of course, if you don't wash off with a fresh water shower immediately after, in about 10 minutes, you have white salt encrustations all over you!

We really enjoyed our first day here so we decided to spend another day here.  I thought we had the perfect plan as we were not on a tour and only stopped to take a dip in the dead sea for 2 hours before heading out to the next sight.  Instead, we snuck in some donuts, fruit and sandwiches to eat and spent the whole day here.

The funniest part was watching all the new people go in the water and experience it for the first time.  I had to laugh at the boy who was wearing a life vest!  He certainly was not going to drown here.

I was so excited that we were going to the Dead Sea because I have never been able to float on the water, I always sink right to the bottom.  They said that the Dead Sea has ten times more salt than the ocean and that it is the lowest part in the world, its below sea level.

It was amazing to float in the water but the water was too cold for me at first.  Then I starting to walk further out until they blew a whistle at me, I guess you can't go past a certain point.  But it was weird walking and then all of a sudden I couldn't touch the bottom but I didn't have to kick my legs at all, I was just floating.

I was having a race with mom running in the water.  But I got water in my eyes and it hurt so bad, I had to go to shore to pour fresh water on my eye.    Then the next day, after putting mud all over our bodies, we had  another race I won HA HA HA.
