We caught the bus to the fancy Metro to go to the Emirates Mall.  I liked the fact that that they had separate cars for women and children.  They even had hostesses on board directing people where to sit.  This was certainly different from the metro in Argentina!

When we arrived at the Emirates Mall, we headed straight to the Indoor Snow Park.  They gave us warm jackets and socks and boots but this still didn't keep me warm, it was freezing in there.  It was funny that you could see all the mall shoppers through the glass windows watching.  We went down the inter tubes a couple of times but it was just too cold for me.  Who would have thought that they would have snow in the middle of the desert.  Of course, I'm not really surprised as anything seems possible in Dubai.

Nik really wanted to snow board so we signed him up for 2 hours!  I watched him from the Mall side and then headed to check out the shops in the mall.  This mall was definitely the fanciest mall I have ever been to.  I was shocked to see how some tourists or ex pats dressed, its like they don't have respect for the local culture.  There were signs posted at the entrance to please dress conservatively, but I saw some women dressed like they were going to the beach.  I think that is just wrong!

Being a woman in this country definitely has its privileges. I had to go in and get some change in the bank and they actually had a line just for women. Then after catching the metro from Emirates mall, we had to catch a bus back to Sharjah.  There was a line of at least 50 men and as I got in line, they all told me that I can go to the front of the line. I felt a bit weird cutting in front of all these people.  Then as we were boarding the bus, they had 2 lines, one for men and one for families. So we had priority again.  I could definitely get used to this.

Our last day in Dubai, I thought that I would go and get my hair done as the roots were really dark.  BOY, was that a mistake!!!!  She did a good job cutting my hair, but the color was a clown orange!  I cried and cried.  Nik was so tired of me talking about how much I HATE MY HAIR!.  The only good thing is that we are heading to Egypt, so I can finally use some of the many scarfs that I have bought, so I can really look like a local!!!

Our last week in the Emirates, I still had not found a camera.   I had asked for my parents opinion on what we should do, get my camera repaired or buy a new one?  It wasn't long after that, I received an email from my Lil Sis, Anna.  She told me that she can check at her outlet store to see if they had the same camera.

She emailed me back and said that she got me one and she was even able to get the price reduced to $100 from $180!!!  WOW, only my sister could do that!   However, at 4am, I was awakened by a phone call from my sister.  I was barely awake and she was talking super fast and saying that the address was incorrect.  I assured her that the address is correct and to just
send it.  This was Thursday and we were leaving on Monday for Egypt, talk about cutting it close.  On Sunday, the front desk called and said I had a package!  Yippee......if anyone could pull that off, it would be my sister!  She is the BEST!  I was so happy to have a camera and
grateful that my sister was able to get one for me on such short notice!  But then again, my sister CAN DO ANYTHING!!!  Love her!  Love her!
