The mission of the day: Skydiving in Motueka over the Abel Tasman park.
I tried to do a formation of one week to become a real skydiver but there was no date available before the 21st and as I m leaving the 24th... I went for a tandem: my first jump will be with an instructor behind me.
At first when I arrived in the center, I ve seen the packing of the parachute and the question behind was how this peace of tissue can avoid you to crash from a fall of 200Kmh... and then I met some other skydiver still alive after their jump with shiny light in their eyes and I understood that it was the good choice to come here.
My instructor Simon (even if he was english) was very nice and professional and gave me a very secure feeling to jump with him. He did some checks and counter checks and counter counter checks to be sure that everything was 100% under control.
When we were ready to jump we all went to the plane and start and become more and more exciting. I was with 2 other english girls who were doing the same first jump as me and till the time they start the engine of the airplane everybody was very relax
and you jump................
you feel the speed the wind stressing your face and you get your eyes on the ground which arrive very quickly....
The instructor tells you that you can look around and then you discover that you are really flying 360' around and you don t know if you don t have any breath if it s due to the air or due to the extreme experience that you are living.
After few seconds which appears like nothing and in same time an eternity, the instructor open the parachute and you feel a strong strength which slow you down. From 200 kmh you slow down to few kmh and everything seems to be smooth and quite; time to relax and to appreciate the view: you re flying.
Simon ask me if I was ready and start to make some turn with the parachute you feel really the acceleration as he s turning all you blood come to your feet and you feel again that you re flying not so slowly.
The ground become bigger and bigger and with the experience of the instructor you land very softly.
Once on the ground you re thinking that it was not real and you want to start again....

. Then when the engine start and the plane begin to take some altitude you begin to think about what you are doing and you have a mix feeling of stress and excitement and they finally open the door of the plane above 13000 m of emptiness... You receive the last advise and you go with you instructor to the door: He put you first the leg in the air and in less than a second your jump..................and you jump................
