I left from Greymouth in direction of Franz Joseph where there is one glacier where you can do some hiking. On the way the bus stopped to Ross and old town where they are still doing some gold panning (for tourist) and real gold extraction for them. I did a hike during the time that the passages of the bus tried to find some fake gold in their pan. I just come back on time to see their smiles finding some few gold dust that the owner put for them before in their pan...
Then we took the way of Franz Joseph, as the hike on the glacier was very expensive, I went to run on hiking track but I did not forecasted the rain: I did half of my running under the rain: there are even some people who stop with their car to ask me if I wanted to go with them as they had pity of me. But as it was quite nice to run under the rain as the temperature was pretty warm I came back completely wet to my hostel, taking a really warm shower afterward.
I found after some people to go to an open mike cession in a pub near by and it was very nice as all the performers were quite good.
