This morning, I was not very motivated to wake up but I had to meet some friend to do some horse riding. We went first, with Jean Daniel and Maxime and the Chinese crew to eat a Chinese breakfast with duck eggs, a kind a soup of rice and a kind of bread: that was a good start for the day.

Then we went to ride horses that little children were riding with us before to let us hike in the middle of the field full of red plants which gave and impression of fire on the grass. After few meter as the ground was to wet, we all took of our shoes to continue bear foot through the fields in direction of the lake. I did not imagine when I woke up that I would walk in the mud bear foot in China at 3350 m high. After a long walk in the middle of the horses, the yaks, the pigs we arrive to the lake and we were obliged to come back.

When we arrive near the horse place, the same children came back with the horse and we came back in gallop to the house: it was very nice to be full speed in the green fields.
As everybody was angry after all this action we went with Chen one the Chinese, to another resto which one more time was just very good. After the lunch, I left everybody to go to a Tibetan Buddhism monastery. About 800 monks leaving in the monastery, and while I was visiting with some sun rays just above the monastery, I met 3 monks who invited me to drink butter yak tea.
They try to explain me how to drink it, there was a kind of powder to throw directly to the mouth and to drink afterward the tea. I did not understand the first time and I put the powder straight in the tea... Anyway they were very nice and they did not say anything.

At my return from the monastery, I went to eat one more time Jean Daniel, Maxime and Chen to a very very nice resto hotel Called Karma cafe (I give the address because you have to go there in you have the chance to go Shangri la: 66 Jinlong Street, Old Town, Shangri la, Yunnan, China 674400, phone 0887-8224768) There we met Afang, a very nice lady whose the owner, and who warm us a friend. She made the best lunch that I had since 4 months and with in addition a very good wine which for a french is kind of exceptional. Any single dishes were absolutely terrific, very tasty and fine food. To make it short, you would understand that I definitely enjoy it. To add also to flavor of the place, it s inside a traditional house fully decorated with would and Tibetan style artifacts.
We finish the diner around the fire place with a glass of Baileys.

A quick dance for the digestion and go to bed

Tomorrow, I m leaving with the Chinese crew to Deqin, a traditional village in the middle of the mountain, I don t know if I will have the opportunity to update my blog for few days but don t worry with good food and good wine nothing bad can happen to me ;-)
