Near from Chengdu (2 hours of bus) there is the grand Buddha of Leshan, the biggest sitting Buddha in the world or at least: it s what they said. I went with other travelers but they left me to continue per bus to Emei shan. The grand Buddha site is full of temples and various different Buddha. All the temple are lost in a dense vegetation which gave a feeling a lost temple or maybe it s because I ve seen Indiana Jones yesterday night.
Of course the grand Buddha is very impressive, he is sitting on a hill looking to the river and the city of Leshan in the back. The river in front of the Buddha is the confluence of 3 rivers and as we were still in the rainy season, the debit was quite important.
As it was raining all the day, it has been a real umbrella festival: there is one of the picture with the snake shape of tourist carrying umbrella in the step to go down to the feet of the grand Buddha.
On the way back to Chengdu, I make friend with a Chinese family, I took a picture of the little girl as she was too cute. I almost make me understand in Chinese but at the end we switch for English as it was the easiest: I still have to learn and to progress a lot.
