I took my 31 hours train the 5th of May from Murmansk arrival the 6th afternoon in St Petersburg. It's a kind of first step before the transiberian.
As I explained in the previous entry, I took the less expensive ticket, which gave me the oppurtinity to be a wagon with 36 beds.
It was a good mix of misunderstanding when I tried to pay for my bed sheets: of course I paid twice the price, but after discussing with one of the girl in the wagon, she asked the woman to come back and to reimburse me what she did immediately: it's so easy when you speak the language!!

All the way to the south, the temperature raise and the snow melt, the light also decrease: currently it's strange to see again a real night.

With the night came the time of sleeping, and unfortunatly I had the last bed next the toilet/ the place to smoke and of course a lot of people were going all the night there just closing the door near my feet the strongest as the could!

Anyway, after midnight I fell asleep like a polar bear, amd midday the day after I woke up as flower or not exactly like that: 12 hours less of train: good for me
When I woke up, I still had 6 hours to kill before the arrival in Peter, so I tried to explain the bagamon to my neighbour, and that work so well that the next game they beat me.

We finally arrived, amd I manage to go through the metro with the help of my new russian friend and to find an hotel what is not so easy with the cyrillic alphabet, and even if the hotel is crapy, it' s just in the center of Peter.

From there, I was ready for my cultural chock of the day: after Murmansk very in the sovietic style (or at least the caricature of the style that european have, me included) and with still a lot of snow, here come Peter: one of the most beautiful town that I've ever seen. My first visit was by night but it was maybe better as all the building and monument were dressed with color and the spote of the night.

Profite bien
