Hello All,

Just a quick update to let you all know we are still very much alive and kickin. We are in Castro, Chile. It is a town on a small island of Chiloé. When we left Bariloche the plan was to head to Puerto Montt, Chile. We were going to stay there one night then head south to the island that we are on now. However, when we arrived in Puerto Montt it was crazy. Lots of hustle and bustle so we decided to catch a bus down here ASAP. Luckily there was one leaving about an hour later with space so we grabbed two tickets. The trip here involved a 3 hour bus ride and a 45 min. ferry trip (the bus drove right onto the ferry). Pretty cool.

Castro is a beautiful city but the real stuff to see is outside the city. There are some amazing islands around here and we had planned to visit them. Unfortunately... things here are very VERY pricey (similiar to US prices) so we have opted to continue on without seeing some areas we had hoped to see. Maybe when we are older with fatter pockets. We did take quite a few photos around the city of some pretty houses and boats. We will uplaod some today and more later. (takes forever to load pics.)

Tonight we take a boat off the island and head on a 7 hour boat ride toward the mainland and a town called Chaiten. Only a day there then a bus to Coyhaique, Chile then a short bus ride to Puerto Aisen then a two day boat ride to Puerto Natales. Should be fun. We are rushing to get down south before it gets too cold.

Our blog entries may be a lot more sporatic for the next month or so. We are planning to do some long hikes (10+ days) and are unsure about getting computers fast enough to update pics. We will of course do the best we can.

Check out the pics. Stay safe and cool everyone!!
