Chapelco Part 2

Having heard that it was going to snow in Chapelco we decided to return to our favourite ski resort in Argentina so far. We had 2 great days of boarding when we arrived although there was very little snow and it was slushy by the afternoon because of the lovely sunshine. Had fun boarding with Bob, Tiffany, Laura, Rachael, and Jan (who we'd met in previous hostels) and had a super fast day.. After a day off and a huge dump of snow the next 4 days of boarding (3 of them with Rachael and Laura) were great fun.. lots of powder to do jumps in and go through the trees and off piste in. Some of the off piste runs we did took us well out of the way (one nearly into a waterfall... Argentinian geographical maps do not show rivers and the like!!) and we had a bit of walking to do in the thigh deep powder (although Laura, Rachael and I (Mandy) managed to find a road and a lift to get back to the resort). Our last day in Chapelco was sunny and Paul and I had a great day enjoying the fresh snow. It was sad to say goodbye to Soledad and Fernando who ran the La Grieta Hostel (where we've now stayed 3 times) as they were so lovely.. They even gave us their bed one night as the hostel was fully booked and they had told us there would be space... Photos coming soon...
