On Friday I put in my application for a British Passport so this adventure can begin!  I will hopefully be receiving it in about 4 weeks providing nothing goes wrong!  For those of you who didnt realise, I am eligable for a passport because Mum is English, born in Horsham, Sussex.  I have started email contact with some Aussie musicians in Leeds so I will hopefully have some decent work lined up for when I arrive!

So what happens now?  When do I go??
I want to fly on the 27th of December 2007.  I have been advised to not get a ticket until I have that passport firmly in my hand, so once I do it will be straight off to the travel agent to book.  Hopefully I can get a flight from Brisbane to any of the major European hubs on that day and then get an easyjet flight or something to Leeds on the 27th.  If not it will be the day after, or as close as possible.  I really want to be in England for NYE, so hopefully it all goes to plan.  I have promised the family I will be here for one last christmas and then I'm off so it really minimises my availability in terms of dates to fly out.

So now I just have to sit and wait for the next couple of months and get through work and uni...  only 9 school weeks left, and I can't wait to finish up teaching!

That's all for now.

Flee damn you! Flee to your precious Engerland with their tiny coastline and their hoards of commuters commuting for no other reason than that 5 kilometres seems like such a long distance under the gloomy skies of midsummer or the gloomier skies of midwinter so why the hell not spend 45 minutes in a tube, inside a tube, with the rest of the sad, sorry, hoard bopping to their ipods full of westlife and benny hill and clutching their mackintoshes tight to their chests and their Tescos shopping bags to close their sides with their pork-pie crumbed chins and their warm-bear stunned countenances barely concealing their daydreams of the costa-del-sol with its lager fueled dance clubs full of sun starved tube travelers!
I reiterate, bah!
