In order to arrive at Phnom Penh at a decent hour we set up our flights with a layover in Bangkok. This allowed us to squeeze in some quick sightseeing and get an early start the next morning. At any major hotel, or through any travel service you can arrange a diner cruise down the river. Well worth it as you get to sample the fantastic Thai food while seeing some of Bangkoks most famous landmarks from the river at sunset. Plus it is very convenient with a van picking you up and dropping you off, there is no hassle in getting around in the Bangkok gridlock at rush hour.
