Well, what a day.
We had an early start and went down for the buffet breakfast (I took down my own cereal and had that there as not too much for me to choose from). There were a lot of french speaking people at breakfast, don't know if they were french or french canadian, was nice to listen to them.
After breakfast we walked all the way across San Francisco, past the Civic Center, to watch some of the Bay to Breakers. Oh, my goodness. We've seen everything now. People dress up in all sorts, groups of grown men in nappies, people dressed as flamingoes, girls walking with frilly underwear, men walking with only jocks on and then there were some that wore nothing at all. The old men were the ones that tended to be naked more than the others and some men had funny things, ? collars, around their meat and 2 veg. One man even looked rather ecxited at whatever he was seeing! I did take pics but don't know if we're allowed to put up nudity here.
After seeing enough of that we headed back around the Civic Center and then boarded a sight seeing bus, one that you can hop on and hop off all day. We were told the first time that someone would come and see to us about tickets but no-one ever did. Never got questioned any other time either, saved us about $90 today! We got off at the Golden Gate bridge and stayed around there for a while then got back on and went to Union Square and Niketown. After that we boarded another bus and headed to Union Square, checked out a few more shops. By the time we walked back to the hotel we were jiggered!
We had a bit of a rest then headed back down to Fishermans Wharf where we had tea at a Rainforest Cafe. We saw the fog roll in, it's thick tonight and that brought a drop in temperature. Saw on TV that it was in the high 90's and low 100's here today and they've had heat advisory warnings on tele. Supposed to be cooler over the next few days, think it will be low to mid 20's in Celcius. We decided not to walk back so caught a cab which Josh hailed down. Only cost us around the $5.00 mark so that wasn't too bad. Sitting here watching Desperate Housewives. Lynette has just found out she is pregnant again with twins. They are shocked! Oh, anyone want to know who wins the next Survivor?
Oh, just heard that LA has had a moderate earthquake which has shattered some windows, epicenter around LAX. Heard that they record between 130 & 150 small quakes in San Francisco every week.
