We've been on the train for an hour now. Our honeymoon is officially underway! Mr. & Mrs. Woodside's Great American Tour! The train (so far) is surprisingly comfortable and bright. The seattts recline and there are pull out bars on the seats in front of us to put our feet up on. Our car attendant walked around and gave everyon pillows. We also brought the beautiful and comfortable quilt that Aunt Lin made us as a wedding gift. On one corner of the quilt it says "Nick *heart* Celeste August 7 2004". We have this corner strategically placed on the outside of our aisle in the hopes that some train attendant will catch on and bump us up to a sleeper car (a girl can dream). We're sitting across from a high school german teacher from Phoenix, AZ who travelled to Boston for a lecture at Tufts. We chatted with him briefly about the pronounciation of Worcester and Worchestershire sauce and he got 3 cups of ice from the cafe care and shared his root beer with us. He also toasted our new marriage with a german toast...something about wishing us health. We clicked our plastic cups and continued to chat about seeing america from a train vs. a plane or a car...so far it seems like we're in for a lot of trees... -- Celeste
