start of tour....
Well. Not really. We have effectively a free day but are to meet with the SAS reps at their offices 2 doors up from our hotel to finalize the bill and to have a briefing about the Manu park trek we will be doing next week.

Our hotel is between a couple of squares and so it is only a few mins walk to the centre of Gringo town, what the locals consider the tourist hive to be.
Alexis was feeling a tad precious so he went back to their room to watch tv while Tina went to locate some zip off pants which she found in a small store for 90soles ($23AUD) emblazoned with 'North Face' so likely to be a knock off at that price.
Much of the afternoon was taken up between planning our post Manu travel, emergency trips to the toilet (Alexis) and watching Spanish language episodes of American tv shows.

The hotel staff were helpful that afternoon translating the instructions on a bottle of laxitive, ringing up an English speaking GP for an over the phone consultation and writing down instructions for the chemist.

The general feeling was that dinner would be a waste if we went out so we ordered room service ( we were in a hotel after all) but even that proved too much for Alexis's digestive system which refused permanent residence to the soup quicker than a Liberal politician.

Not surprisingly.
An early night was had.
