Having arrived in Rio on New year´s Eve one would have expected us to be right in the middle of the celebrations on Copacabana beach at midnight, NO, we were woken up by  the apparent shelling of the city as a barrage of huge explosions rocked the hotel. The night flight of the previous day had taken it´s toll and we were both shattered after the journey from the cold of the UK to he warmth of Brazil, just too tired to even watch the fireworks.

It was good to be back in the middle of the generosity and friendliness of this great city. After just four days it was good to get away! A night bus to Curitiba, a two day stop, another night bus to Foz and now we are ready to get right into the traveling game. The PLAN has not yet been laid but outlined as going where the fancy takes us, Vera wants to see the places I covered last year but then so do I. As the continent is so vast there are hundreds of places to be covered, perhaps a deeper trip in Peru, maybe a venture into the Amazon. Who knows, all I can say is "watch this space"

Take care out there all of you. Most of you know that the grin on my face is from ear to ear and getting bigger as we move onto new places. There is so much to see and do, every day is the page of a new story that I want to read.
