Dear Everyone,
Well our time in London was fast and furious as we expected.
4 days which included 2 afternoon teas - one at the Berkley which was very trendy and the other at the Ritz which was very traditional. We also thoroughly enjoyed the musical 'Billy Elliot' - it takes you through the full range of emotions from very sad to very funny.
Our first afternoon we visited the Tate Modern, then on to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and some very old parts of the city by the Thames, then on to visit Tina who has a new apartment on the Thames, so it was nice to catch a ferry for a change and see places like Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge and she is one wharf stop before Greenwich.
Next day we started off with a walk through Hyde Park, found the Diana Memorial but it was out of action because of maintenance, then we tried to find the new Anzac Memorial but without luck, we seem to walk for miles and asked a number of people and it didn't seem to appear in any map - so we struck a deadend. Then on to Kensington High Street, Harrods and a few more shops - then afternoon tea at the Berkley.
Next day we ventured off to Portobello Road and took in some of the markets - thank God it was a quiet day then on to the Ritz.
On our last day we visited Angela in Ealing in the morning, then lunch with Justine at Angel, back to our B&B, then Charlotte had invited us to celebrate Guy Fawkes night at her friend's penthouse appartment which had a hugh deck overlooking beautiful private gardens and fireworks going off in all directions - a great finale to our time in London.
Left Heathrow at 11.30 Sunday morning for our long flight to Bangkok.
Next instalment will be our last from Bangkok - very sad, it is all coming to an end too quickly.
Love to all,
Win and Emma xxx
