Buenos Noches Amigos,
Tonight is my last night here, sigh. I had the best day of the trip so far today. We (helen, annette and a few others) went to the disco and then stayed on the beach here until sunrise...wow. I think it would be hard to find something as beautiful as a sunrise on a carribean island.
This afternoon I ventured into the city, porlamar with a friend I met, Pete from Rio. We ended up sitting in a cafe all afternoon over what I have to say was the best salad and certainly the best meal I have had here to date. The service here is VERY slow, and until now it was hard for me. Today, ironically the day before I leave, I finaly adjusted and understand the reason things are so slow. We talked and enjoyed every sip, every bite...so relaxing. Pete has very good english and understands our culture very well. I was fascinated with his perception of america as a european man living in south america. An experience and a conversation I will not soon forget.
Jamie, you are going to LOVVVVEEEEEEE MEEEE! I found you a little something round from an oyster that you wanted (amazing).
I am out for my last night here, and up at 5am to catch my flight home. I am sad to be leaving, these last few days here have been my best on the island...I have met so many wonderful people and some friends I am sure I will have for life. Hopefully you will soon meet them upon their visits to the states.
Love to all,
XXOO
