Wow, I thought I'd posted this already. Here is the highly belated financial summary from the Costa Rica trip back in January. The main spikes in expenditures this time came in the form of attraction entry fees and souvenirs. Anyone wanting to go lounge on the beach for a week can disregard those fees. Lodging, on the other hand, averaged out to $14 a night per person. We stuck with our usual single room at a hostel for the most part, except for the night at the ecolodge outside of Fortuna. Travel was very reasonably priced, particularly considering we paid extra for some express services to lower the ratio of travel time to sightseeing time.

Daily, it came to $81 a day, plus plane tickets of $397. (When souvenirs are taken out, it comes to $64 a day.)
