whole trip over was long but glad i booked nice room with air con as i arrived at 7:30pm, had a few beers and a meal, unpacked my bag and went to sleep at 11:30pm only to wake up at 7:30pm next night!! So i went and ate again, had a bath and repacked my bag again (as i hadnt got it right!) and had nothing else to do as the hotel was in middle of nowhere and felt tired from the big sleep?! So crashed again at midnight and just chileld rather than sleep but must have nodded off at some point at woke at 9am so mission was to try get out of dodge but first priority was my typhoid jab....

what a journey: i know Bangkok like the back of my hand now, in just one day! Been all over on the skytrain, on crazy tuk tuks and been sent on many a wild goose chase and unbeleivably, can you believe the police station is called the hospital?! So when i should have been asking for medical centre or something like that, i ask for the hospital and finally find its actually the police station!! To cut long story short i finally find it on other side of town and it works out to be a blessing in disguise... the typhoid jab is about a fiver, good start, but then this lovely doctor tells me i must have a Japanese Enphicitus jab for malaria; i explain it was an option in UK but only an option and very expesnive, she says she wont let me go without it, its a must have so i am glad i got it, plus it costs about 18 quid but in UK it was 140 quid!! Also, my malaria tablets run out of date next month so i ask about that and she says not to risk it but also that i dont need tablets everyday and gives me something called SBET which you just have if you get bitten and get the symptoms so works exactly the same but  you have the medication at the time, not all the time. But what would have cost me about 250 quid in UK cost me about 38 quid... and hospital was clean and staff very nice so worked out OK in end.
So right now i am on Kho San Rd, famous for backpackers and is like Magaluf.... found this internet cafe (for free!?) and got a dodgy pad tai which she cooked the chicken in for about 3 or 4 mins so i aint riskin it and just pickin at noodles. Arrived here after manic day only to have an old local guy try find me a hotel and get me a bus ticket for next day, now i have read in my guide to be wary of strangers but i have already met so many friendly locals, people in the street who just stop me and ask if i am OK and happy to spend 10 mins or so helping me or even showing me somewhere - the people are amazing, and that is in the captial.... anyway he took me round and to cut another long bizarre story short i had to but him short which, he didnt take kindly to, but it was 7pm, didnt have a room and just needed shower, email you and get a beer and crash - not in the mood yet for anything like this place and had my fill of Bangkok for now so getting bus out tomorrow to where the Bridge over the river Kwai is and then i am heading north. Should imagine will find more time to get on internet and though its been an odd first few days i absoluelty love it here, nothing has put me off, all is good and very happy....
