Left at 730am on bus to HCMC. There was an hour of travelling on treacherous roads on our way down from Dalat. Eventually we smelled HCMC at 4pm. My bum was really hurting. Depositing my bags at Sinh Tourist office, I sprung into action immediately searching for cheap rooms. Found one at Bui Vien Street for US$14 a night - Phong Hotel. Withdrew some cash and bought myself a new 8gb camera memory card, so no more downloading to hotel's pc.

Settled on a 2 day trip to Mekong Delta for tomorrow - costed vnd 530 000. Finally met my old uni mate Tuan at 7pm and it was all wining and dining and hongkong teas at SunWah building. We started with wine tasting at Tuan's favourite wine boutique, some seafood dishes with 2 of his mates and then head out for street side broken rice which was fabulous. We then chilled out at a cafe popular with the fashionable local gals and had hongkong teas, checking out some really glamourous vietnamese ladies. I was probably the odd fellow out with his bermudas and napalm death t shirt.
