Cape Trib Camping

This morning we decided to venture north to Cape Tribulation. Stopped at Mossman Gorge on the way, had a nice walk thru the rainforest and a refreshing swim in the gorge, the water was cold but it was hot and sunny day so we didn't mind. After a splash about and some lunch we continued up the coastal road, which was very pretty and reminded us of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, until we got to the floating barge to take us over the river to Cape Tribulation. We didn't have to wait long and once we'd made it across the croc infested river (the big yellow warning signs everywhere say it all!) we stopped at a lookout on the way then arrived at Cape Trib Camping late afternoon. It was a very quiet campsite and pretty basic but right next the beach which was amazing - like something out of Lord of the Rings. The lady at reception had told us that there was a pub off a track half way down the beach so we set off on a mission! Unfortunately we couldn't find it so ended up having dinner at a yummy restaurant called Whet
instead (shame!) It made a nice change to eat out and treat ourselves a little - it's strange from going to eating out all time in Asia and looking forward to cooking for yourself to the complete opposite here! After dinner we walked back to the campsite - the full moon made it so light it almost felt like daylight!
