We had breakfast overlooking the sea then got back on the highway, but in the wrong direction! We decided to take a detour and head inland along a road called the Waterfall Way. It's listed in the Lonely Planet as one of the 'Must Sees' of New South Wales so we figured we should probably check it out. After a long drive chugging slowly up the hills in second gear then coasting back down again we passed a couple of small waterfalls, through the town of Bellingen to Dorrigo, where we saw another reasonably nice waterfall but, to be honest, nothing to write home about. We were needless-to-say a bit disappointed with the Lonely Planet's high praise of this drive - it was made out to be a spectacular array of magnificent national parks, gorges and waterfalls but all we'd passed in the last 3 hours were cows and kookaburras! If you ever plan to trip down Waterfall Way I wouldn't bother! Never mind - we chugged up and coasted down all the way to Maclean further up the coast, then found a campsite at Woombah Woods where we we cheered up by the resident alpackas (and a baby one too!)
