I do my back an injury, not hitting a rock in the water but lifting the blessed boat to the shore. I'm able to paddle. Indeed the exercise and restraint of the life-jacket seem to help for the three hour drift to the dam. I think it's a pulled muscle not a hernia. Feeling an old man... The five-hour, cramped bus journey back to Pokhara is most uncomfortable.
On the return to Pokhara, I lay on my hotel bed. My sleep is disturbed not only by backache but by the thumping bass of a full-moon party on the lake shore till 6.30am. Obviously the back prevents me from joining the party.
