Well we are finally out of Tupiza! Liz is all recovered and we made our escape in very classy fashion, via a first class train, arriving in Uyuni at midnight last night. The first class wasn´t all caviar and Dom P, but it was heated, with full recliners and was a very nice way to travel through the desert!

Uyuni and Tupiza appear to rely on the Salt flat tour trade to survive...there is basically nothing else here! Both towns have less than 20,000 people and it shows!

We have been all business this morning, trying to get out of this place...and in fact the country! And, I believe that we have finally cracked it! We managed to take the last two places in a jeep for a three day tour of the salt flats, leaving tomorrow morning. This means that we will arrive in San Pedro de Atacama on Wednesday for some sand boarding and then leave for Calama on Friday night for the flight on Saturday!

We are doing the tour with Colque Tours and have an Auzzie, one Italian and two Frenchies on sure there will be some friendly Rainbow Warrior banter! Will have to report in a couple of days as to how it has worked out!!!
