Although i've only been away less than a week, its been incredibly hectic and i've found myself rushing around for the most of it! After a long 12 hour flight we touched down in Hong Kong and the first thing that struck me was the vast amount of buildings. No picture i've seen previously can quite illustrate the sea of tower blocks and skyscrapers that surround the harbor. Some of the buildings in particular were amazing, the bank of china being the most impressive, especially at night when it was lit up.

Being on a budget and the fact that Hong Kong accommodation isn't the cheapest, our hostel was located the 13th floor of what can only be described as a dive!! But hey i've gotta learn the hard way and it served its purpose! Although, it did have air conditioning, but i'm not sure if it was appreciated or not...it was sporadic and so noisy, despite the claim 'super quiet'!

Regardless of this, Hong Kong was spectacular and we managed to see most of the major tourist attractions such as catching the peak tram up the mountain in order to view the city from above, and the nightly display, where a large number of the buildings lit up in sync with music.
