After a fantastic couple of days in Stockholm, we boarded our flight at the tiny Vasteras airport and arrived back in Poland mid afternoon. The blue skies and bright sunshine in Sweden were blocked by heavy cloud cover here, giving the place much less of an appealing feel to it. Deciding against spending the night, we instead hit the square for a few hours, in order to grab a meal and a few pints before heading back to Wroclaw around 9pm.

It was my second time in Poznan, after visiting Ania there almost a year earlier. On that occasion it was sunny, about 30 degrees, and there was a lively atmosphere on the square with Market stalls and bands in preparation for the 'Malta Festival'. This time the place felt dead, and to remind us we'd landed back in Poland, we found ourselves waiting for almost half an hour before being served at a restaurant on the square.

Following a decidedly average meal we went for a short walk, but didn't venture too far, opting to spend only a short time wandering through some of the cobblestone streets before finding another place to sit and grab another pint. Perhaps if the weather had been nicer we'd have made more of our time there, but coming back from the near perfection of Sweden it was hard to find a lot of positive things about the place. The only memorable part of the trip was seeing everyone immaculately dressed for university graduation ceremonies. Nevertheless, I do have fond memories of the place, as long as when I think of Poznan I think of my first trip there!
