When I awake at 8 there is only 1 of my 3 roommates in the room. Did they not make it home or go to work with almost no sleep (2 are waiters - hippies are in a different room)?

I try to get my flights for Brazil arranged - distances can be really long. I fail to book some really good airfares that I found. I call TAM who tells me I must have a Brazilian credit card to get them. The fares available to me are much higher. Frustrating!!! I make a couple placeholder reservations but will decide later.

The day is focused on exploring Mole beach. It is the surf beach. Definitely the place to be for non-families. Interestingly there are maybe 50 surfers during the day but a couple thousand people on the beach. Another beautiful spot with many bars playing all types of music. After getting my fill of walking the beach and hiking to a nearby one, I mostly hang at a bar with a person playing a guitar and singing. There is 1 bar that has a Brazilian version of vball - feet chest and head but no hands. It is amazing the control they have. A few people hang out til sunset with me. I walk the 2 km to Lagoa. The traffic is awful so I am going faster than the bus I could have taken.

After a Caparinah on the lake, I have dinner at the best Italian restaurant I have been to on this trip, saint germane. Not sure of how late the bus runs so I pass on the bars and head back for some more music on the beach. I go yo my favorite beach stand (on the far right facing the water) where the owner (Enu) now knows me. It appears to be the place for locals. There is a drum band with locals dancing to the music as you would see in carnival. I head back to the pousada at 1 AM. The hippies are showering to go to out and hang on the beach after everything closes down and I can't wait to sleep. Our body clocks are out of sync by 8 hours.
