Turned away at the gate of Old Head Golf Course and ran into a herd of cows and a dairyman philosopher who straightened us out on childrearing theories.  We toured our obligatory fort and church for the day.  There was even a wedding going on.  Not enough time to tour Jamieson but we did see a 5000 euro bottle of Irish Whiskey!  The alarm foiled my plans.  Blarney Castle was fun.  I was willing to share my germs with all the thousands of other visitors if it would bestow upon my lips the gift of eloquent speech.  We arrived in Glengarriff at 8:00 PM.  Not wanting to disturb the relatives at that hour we had dinner at our hotel and were paying our bill when a man came in asking for Bill Sullivan from Chicago.  It was my cousin Gene O'Sullivan and his wife Maya.  They took us to the bar next door where we were warmly welcomed with kisses and hugs by numerous descendants of John and Julia O'Sullivan my great grandparents.  Before we knew it it was 12:30 and time for bed.  Sweet dreams!

Obviously I'm catching up on your blog. Your day is the story of why travel is so amazing. From the philosopher to the family - what a wonderful experience. It all makes me want to get on a plane.
