Left Fiji to head for New Zealand, was only a short 3hour flight so
relaxed and watched a movie on the plane and were there before we knew
it. We were surprised how much it felt like home, especially the
temperature was freezing after spending 10days in Fiji. Got a shuttle
bus into Auckland city center, which also reminded us of home, felt
like we were in Manchester not on the other side of the world. Our
hostel was really nice had everything you needed, laundry room,
Internet cafe, library, and a bar and night club. Didn't really do much
for the rest of the day except our washing as are clothes were
absolutely minging. We had one full day here before we had to pick up
our camper so spent the day looking around Auckland city center,
checking out the shops on queen street and walking down to the harbor.
Then we definitely felt like home as it pissed down all afternoon,
so we went to the cinema and watched Evan Almighty.

Today was
the day, camper time, ant was like an excited little puppy driving me
mad all morning lol. Picked our baby up at noon, and thought it
was fab, had everything we needed and was really cosy. Worried the
young guys as we have never driven an automatic so asked him to show
us, lol. Its actually really easy once you get used to it. Headed
straight for the supermarket to stock up, then drove to a campsite near
by as it was getting late.
The following day we left Auckland and
headed north to the bay of islands, it took us four hours to get there
but was lots of nice scenery on the way. ant at base auckland

we stayed at Haruru falls,
which was beautiful. had a look around the bay in the afternoon but
decided against a boat trip due to the English weather. Ant nearly
destroyed the camper lol, by driving under an archway which was ALOT
lower than the camper van, luckily he was going very slow and it
didn't do any damage. The next day we carried on heading north,
ending up at the bottom of ninety mile beach, stayed here for one
night, once again the weather was crap, raining thunder and
lightning, so spent the afternoon in the camper chilling out. Had
a scare in the evening  as we could hear wolfs howling near by so
made a run for the toilets. We decided against going all the way up to
Cape Reigna as the weather still wasn't to great, we were abit gutted
as we really wanted to go sand boarding here, so heading back down the
west coast instead visiting the Waipoua forest on the way. Here there
were Kauri trees, which are bleady huge.

The following day we
headed back down towards Auckland, weather was alto better so had a
nice but windy drive. We went back to Auckland city center and decided
to go up the sky tower 330m high, give you really good views of the
city, and had a glass floor in the elevator as well as on the viewing
platform. Ant shit his pants, so Jen thought it would be funny to jump
on the glass to scare him lol. Then we headed to Bay of Plenty on
stayed on Papamoa beach, was really nice as our camper van site way on
a hill literally right in front of the beach.
