Arrived in Fiji on the fifth of September after a very long flight. We had to stop over at a place called Christmas island, from what we saw from the landing it looked very nice and is apparently a good place for fishing. Had a very dodgy landing there as the runway was tiny and didn't look like we would land or take off on time, which with turbulence wasn't very nice lol. Was very strange because when we left Hawaii it was 12.00pm on the 4th sep, and when we landed after a 9hr flight it was 6.30pm on the 5thsep, so poor ant lost his birthday lol. It was very dark when we arrived so we got a shuttle to our hostel. We were only there for one night as there is not alot to do in Nadi, however it was very nice. Chilled out in the hammock and at last were able to have a beer. Had an early start the next day, got the bus to the Marina to start Island hopping. First we had to get on the big yellow boat. This takes you around all the islands, and you transfer to the islands on speedboats. We decided to go to the furthest island and work our way back.

Our first stop was Nanyua lailai, we stayed at sunrise resort, arrived at the blue lagoon which was beautiful and had to walk over the island to get to the resort, and a dog had to lead us the way.lol We had a game of bingo, was the funniest game of bingo ever ant and the guys
ant and the guys
. ant won 2 games and loved it, not the bday present he wished for but was good enough.lol, then we sat and had some beers with an Irish and English couple. the staff were very friendly especially queen the campest man we have ever met who was hilarious, accommodation was very basic but food was great and it gave us a real look at the Fiji lifestyle. whilst here we also decided to do a cave trip, we had to take a 45min speedboat ride to get there and got absolutely soaked because of the huge waves, was a fun but very wet experience. got to the caves and they were amazing, we had to swim underwater through a small gap to reach another cave which was in complete darkness. Was fen but as perusal jenna was shitting herself lol. Just as we were about to leave starting feeling things stinging us, the guy told us it was water lice YUCK, bleady hurt nasty little gits.

Our next stop was long beach resort. this resort was very quiet and a good place to relax on the beach, made you feel like you were miles away from any were or anyone.  We took a stroll up the beach in the afternoon and the dog from the restort followed us, we were really chilled out until we heard lots of barking, and 6 scabby dogs came running around the corner, snarling at us. Jenna had to stop ant from running away like a little girl, cos the bleady things would have chased us, we just slowly waked the other way and luckily they buggered off. Also Had a cute cat which slept outside our room and saw cows on the beach which was very weird. We only spent one night here, then we moved on to white sandy beach.

This was our  favorite place out of all of the islands ant chilling

. When we arrived we had a big bula welcome, accompanied by a coconut drink, straight out of the coconut. We met three guys while we were here, Keith and James from England and Patrick from Ireland. They were really cool guys so spent lots of time with them, snorkeling playing volleyball, cards, drinking. In the evening we had another bula welcome and had to learn the bula dance, which is similar to the macarena, had to do it about 50times, throughout our time there lol. Spent the evenings chilling with the guys, the locals made us a bomb fire on the beach so we sat there until the early hours of the morning, was wicked. The electric goes out at 11O'Clock and we have never been in a place were it has been so dark, literally couldn't see your hand in front of your face but gave you some great views of the stars, does get much better than that. Sunday morning we were invited to church, was actually a very good experience all of the local sang and danced, was a nice thing to see, then chilled during the day and had a crab race in the evening, our crab (Gary)SUCKED.

We decided to move on the next day, went to Waya Lailai resort, was nice but couldn't beat white sandy beach, so the next day we went to Yaqeta, was also a nice place, tried some Kava,(part of a root plant which they soak in water, fiji traditional drink) which looked and tasted dist gusting, and made u feel very sleepy. Met a nice German couple here, also some Aussies, and a crazy old Italian man called Roberto ant on the plane

. We only had two nights left after this so we decided to go back to White sandy as we loved it so much. Had another Nice welcome, and the barmaid called Va, was glad to see us. She spent the whole time saying bullshit to us, (you had to be there). Had another great couple of days there, however it was full the first night so they put us in a tent on the beach. We were not very impressed at first but it was actually very Cosy. They made up for it the next day and put us in a bure, which are wooden made huts right on the beach. Did more dancing (ant was named bula king hoe embarrassing wish i had recorded him, though we both won the stick dance competition) Relaxed on the beach and spent lots of time in the hammocks snoozing. We also had a go at jewelery making and made some really cool bracelets out of coconut shells. We were really sad to leave, could have stayed there forever, one of the Fiji woman offered to throw us a Fiji wedding bless her and gave us her email, Ant should be so lucky. The boat ride back was dreadfully, the weather turned bad and the sea was really chopping, so spent the next four hrs feeling sick. Arrived back in Nadi, at 7 tired and smelly as there were only cold showers and not electric on all the islands, as you can see from the pics not good for Jens hair. Sat with the German couple for an hour and had an early night as we were leaving for New Zealand at 7am.

Altogether we had an amazing timer in Fiji, and will definitely go back one day, the people are the kindest people we have ever met, carrying your bags, entertaining you, and treating you like part of there family. Tried some different food, like parrot fish and god know what some of the other things were.
