We left USA hostel on 17th Aug, said goodbye to our roommates lou and nic, crazy party animals from Canada. Then we went to find our hotel the Whitcomb. It was very nice not exactly backpackers accomidation, but we had no choice. So we enjoyed our 2 nights there as it will be the most luxury we will see for the next 10 months. We had a king size bed and cable tv.

The next morning we woke up very early so we could make the most of the day. We walked down to Powell street, which is at the bottom of the city, to catch the cable car. This would then take us up to the top of the city near to the bay. it was a really nice day so we decided to walk to the golden gate bridge. which ended up being alot further away than we had thought. but was well worth it. The views were amazing, and although it was very very windy we walked from one end to the other, which is actually alot further than you think 1.2miles each way. Then we realised oh shit now we have to walk all the way back. Which took us alot longer as we were bleady nakered. On the way back we went into a grocery store which kicks tescos ass, take a look at the picture of our sandwhich.

We finally got back to where we started about an hr and a half later

. As we were at the top of the city we decided we might as well walk to Lombard street, the windiest street in the world. This was a really cool thing to see and it was funny watching the cars trying to make there way down it without bumping the sides. we then headed back to the Cable car turn around, were we had to wait an hr but we didnt mind as we certainly were not going to walk down. Even after the worlds biggest sandwhich we were still hungry so we went for a pizza. We ordered a whole pepperroni and wondered why they looked at us funny until they bought it over. Oh my god fucking huge. we couldn't eat it all and it lasted us 2 days, got to watch the pennies! By now we were fat, full and ready for bed, we took a demanding stroll back to our hotel, where we chilled out and watched movies.
