Our stay at Puribawana was very lazy indeed, most of us enjoying the fact that the children were getting on so well and required less attention from the parents as a result.  The Wickens family were struck down by a 24 hour Bali Belly then horrendous colds/fevers so that kept us close to the villa as well.

We did all venture out a couple of times for the kids to do some surfing, and the Dads got to play in the waves a bit too.  We finished off one of the days with a compulsory visit to the bar Ku De Ta, one of Bali's more famous sunset drinks venues.  All the kids had a great time playing on the beach which allowed the grown-ups to have a few civilised drinks soaking up the chilled vibe of the place.

A group trip to Water Bom was another highlight of the week.  Despite being warned by Alex that it would be full of feral Aussies wearing Bintan t-shirts (which it was) we were hugely impressed by the standard of the place, all rides being properly designed to international safety standards and the whole place being spotlessly clean.  The diversity of people there was impressive:  everyone from your communal garden feral Aussie, to burka-wearing Muslim mums, getting stuck in in the kids pool with full-body black swimsuits and hoods.  One lady, with a great sense of humour, even had a pink tutu sewn around her swim-burka.

The boys absolutely loved having a whole week to play with other children and it gave them a much-needed rest from each other.  Zach and Charlotte became bosom-buddies, and Jamie loved playing with all the girls and Daniel.  Even Benjamin had a buddy in 2 year old Maia.  Jamie, being a chip off his Father and Grandfather's blocks, quickly ditched the Australian accent he had been working so hard on and replaced it with a hint of an International/Hong Kong Expat accent picked up from Jess and Ella.
