Pambula and the surrounding regions, including the main town of Merimbula were great, offering a wonderful combination of some of the most beautiful rural Australia scenery, the wonderful south coast of NSW and some real towns. We can understand why long time Australian friends, (who looked after for Katherine and I the first time we set foot in Australia) David and Helen have chosen to move down here.
We went for a beautiful walk on the beach and had a great picnic, however, the end of the walk was some what blighted as Zach (who refuses to wear shores) stubbed his toe on the rocks and looks like he will loose the nail in the next few days. Needless to say Dad had to give him a shoulder ride home the last 1km or so.
The human is an impressively adaptive being. It has not taken long at all to go from complaining that the corner suite in the New York Four Seasons you have been allocated with does not have a view of Central Park, or that the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong is looking a bit tired, to exclaiming positively that the communal shower facilities at the Pambula camp site are really rather good. Or from admiring the latest Ferrari in Mayfair to coveting some of the off road caravans on offer. How life changes in 3 short months.
