The Northern Beaches, and particularly Palm Beach and Whale beach are supposed to be great and with the weather brightening - although little let up in Katherine's mood, we left Sydney behind cleared the traffic and were soon on twisty roads passing wonderful coastal scenery and beautiful houses.
The waves and undertow were some what aggressive on Whale beach so we headed around the corner to Palm beach which was beautiful, a few kids and a good couple of miles of golden sand and nice waves. The water was crystal clear, warm and with almost no one on the beach it could not have been better.
Benji loved the sand and the waves running between a hole in the sand the boys had dug and the sea. The weather was perfect and everyone's mood lightened. The boys loved the surf with both of them catching waves all the way in on their boogie boards. Even mum got in the water with the board.
Jamie and I caught a couple of waves together which delighted both him and me. All in all Palm beach and the northern beaches were wonderful, with Pitt Water, an inland water way at the back of the beach, full of sail boats, a few nice restaurants and pristine coast. Yet another reason why Sydney is so great.
We all got back in time for a BBQ on the terrace. Half way through his sweet corn Zach mentioned his teeth hurt a bit and moments later out popped his first tooth which he is incredibly proud of. The Ozzie tooth fairy found its way to our house but kindly left the tooth as well as some money so I think Zach's scrap book will also have a little tooth in it.
Thursday, weather mixed and kids supposed to be having sailing lessons, but all change as the sailing instructor cancelled ill. So we took off and headed North with dark clouds, threatening rain and Katherine threatening the children, having spent quiet enough time with 3 little boys and little or no break.
