Apparently the last safe pitstop before travelling though Transkei. After being warned by several people - one of whom carries a really, really big gun for a living - not to travel past Kokstad at night, this was a mandatory pitstop. What can you say about a town of roughly 50,000 people that has only one dining option after 8pm - a franchised steakhouse serving grilled mystery meat. Its only redeeming feature was a lovely mountain view in the morning.

So off we go, into the Transkei.
