Wow! After a cool night (got down to 48 degrees) we woke up to a sunny morning. We spent the day traveling to few Oceanside communities south of the MacKerricher State Park. Oh but first-Albert and I went into town early and enjoyed a real cup of coffee (Starbucks). We went to Mendocino which is a small village with really cute shops and restaurants and quite a few strange people (We'll explain later). We also spent part of the afternoon touring around Fort Bragg which is 3 miles from our campground. We went to the North Coast Brewing Company and purchased some local brew.  We also participated in some Wine tasting at the Pacific Coast Winery-both very good-highly recommend "Red Seal beer" and "Dad's Daily Red" wine.  On the way back, we stopped at Glass Beach which is a beach area outside of the campground. Many were swimming-we were not!! It's very cool but Erin says she is going in tomorrow.  Later in the afternoon, the sunshine changed to intense fog over the whole area.  It was strange-very misty and almost like it was raining. We found out later that the Coastal Redwoods thrive because of the moisture from the ocean mists as there is virtually no rain in this area during the summer months. Albert and Jenn went on a hike back from the beach to the campsite, a 3 mile trail.  We had a great time watching the seals playing after dinner and the campfire was great too.
