This is our last day in South Dakota. It's been an amazing experience. We've seen so many interesting things during our stay here. Today, we took a drive to a little town called Hot Springs in the South part of Custer State Park. It's a quaint little town with many shops and little restaurants and natural springs. There are also some hot sulpher springs here too. We had a lunch at a cute Mexican restaurant and toured the town. After this, we took a drive to the West edge of the Badlands National Park. Highway 2 got us there-finally!! After driving on a dirt road for about 40km before we got to the site. It was well worth it. The Badlands in this section are really quite different from the stop we made in the North corner. This area is more like small canyons not crops of rock jutting out of the ground. This area of the state is covered in wild, very tall grasses. They even have cactus growing there. We took a short hike around the canyon and returned to start the dreaded task of getting packed up for tomorrow. We plan to be on the road by 7am. Talk to you soon.
