Our day began with a 7am departure from Flint Michigan. Michigan brought us to the beautiful state of Indiana. Awesome farm country and lots of corn!!! Illinois, not so peaceful-took us 2 hours at approx. 25km per hour to get through Chicago at noon!! Imagine rush hour!! I guess that's why so many were taking the train! Cool city- a great mix of modern skyscrapers and old industrial. Pit stop in the suburbs for lunch and next state Wisconsin. More corn and absolutely the most beautiful farm country we've ever seen. Dairy farms, rolling hills and of course, corn!! We stopped for dinner in La Crosse before crossing into Minnesota. Can you believe this is farm country primarily and yes, they grow corn there!! The land is very flat-prarie like. We had a great discussion about our travel plans with the Walmart clerk in La Crosse. She wondered if we all speak french in Canada!! The coolest part about Minnesota was coming across hundereds of windmills in Dexter, Minnesota. We continued on drive to Fairmont, Minnesota where we are crashing for the night. The girls are catching up with friends on MSN.
We drove 1200km today and will have about 900km left tomorrow before we arrive into South Dakota for 5 days! Talk to you later! Good Night!
