Went back to Byron Bay one last time to say goodbye to all the good memories. I arrived and Amys' (Switz, Holland, Spain) sister Kate was waiting for me. We went back to the 1.5 million dollar mansion that she and her friends had totally lucked out on getting for the week.
We had some BBQ parties and went out to experience the local Byron nightlife, something I hadn't done much last time I was there. Um, and now I know why. I left Byron with Kates' cousins who dropped me off in Lennox Head to visit with Laurens' aunt and her son.
I spent some beautiful days at the beach in Lennox getting my last sunburn of the season. We toured around the small sleepy Lennox Head town then took a nature walk through Broken Head Rainforest. Finally, we ended up back in Bryon Bay where I finally made it to the Beach Hotel. It was so packed and the atmosphere was terrific. The service was not very good tho and they ended up heavily overcharging me on a credit card ticket. Be very careful when you travel to make sure to check your statements against your reciepts because shifty servers forge extra numbers. I am still waiting after several letters (and prolly forever will be) for this establishment to right this wrong.
Afterwards, we went to the lighthouse where everything in the bay was lit up with the bright stars and the roving spotlight. I reflected on my happy moments here and remembered the special people who made them. I said goodbye to one of my fondest locations in Oz and headed back up to Brisbane, my last stop in Australia.
