Where I stayed
I got up early and then headed over to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with my friend who is also in town for the show. We took the monorail, again, and there was a huge line, again. I saw everything in the North Hall yesterday and headed for the South Hall today.
I wandered around with my friend for a little while. At one point we were going to cross paths with an entourage of around 10 people and we were stopped by some large people who seemed to be bodyguards. It turns out that one of the people in the entourage was 50 Cent, who owns SMS Audio, a headphone manufacturer. I later saw him being interviewed on C/NET.
I later noticed a bunch of people waiting around the TOSY booth. They had been waiting for hours for Justin Bieber who was going to introduce the mRobo, a dancing robot. In the mean time, the TOSY booth didn't have anything to show, which seemed like a waste to me. I looked over the people waiting and, for the most part, they were much older than the demographic profile I would have assumed for Justin Bieber fans.
There was a big crowd around the Qualcomm booth. Mixed-martial arts fighter Alistair Overeem was making an appearance.
The exhibitors may have needed the celebrities this year. There don't seem to be any major products coming out now. It's much more evolutionary than revolutionary.
I caught a bus from the convention center to the Cosmopolitan for dinner at e by Jose Andres. They give you a diner number at e. I was diner number 1185 last year and had a great meal.so I decided to go again. Dinner was just as good this time as diner 2546. I'f you go to Las Vegas, I'd recommend a visit.
I walked back to my hotel and called it a night.
